Writing is for man what the sunlit silver mucus trail is for snails and slugs in the garden of life; writing is for man what the web is for spiders supping on fleshy fruit from the tree of life; writing is for man what streams of cat spray are-- to fellow felines-- on stalks of green spring grass; writing is to man what scents of dog urine are on newly painted fire hydrants and gnarled tree trunks: Abstract signatures inscribed in each specie's own unique language and ink proclaiming: I am here, this is my mark, and I am wonderful! |
