WHOSE MUSE IS THIS?

A prodding voice calls out to me.
What form it has, I cannot see.
A solid sound, though whispered low;
The meaning seems to come and go.
Its sense I feel, more than I hear.
The pulsing thought comes ever near.
Speak up! Put words upon my tongue
so I may raise my voice in song.
