OLD PEOPLE

Old people are smarter
Old people eat slower and chew longer
And walk around the block early in the morning
And don't use tobacco

Old people must be wiser than me
How did they get that old
And how do they still pay their bills?
And raise all those kids during the depression?

Gosh I feel dumb when I see all those old people in line at the cafeteria,
Almost twice as old as me
What wisdom I could gain by asking them questions

Most admit it is good clean living
Some say it's lady luck and fate
Or an apple a day

Some of them say,
"I seen it all"

My question is how did you get to be so old?
You must have learned from your teachers
And learned that life is not fair
And that you never give up,
You must be one of those cockeyed optimists?
