SENIOR BALL

There's still some dancing left in these old bones,
Something inside still moves these scuffling feet
When music's played. I think it's kind of neat
How this old body with its aches and groans
Can still be drawn in by a 4/4 beat.
It doesn't matter just how fast or slow
The music plays, or how the lyrics go.
Some ancient witchcraft dominates these feet
And they begin to tap their toes in time.
They are enchanted, like that "Red Shoes" girl
Whose feet kept moving. Round and round I twirl.
If only in my heart. And it's sublime
These swollen feet and bent arthritic knees
Can keep in rhythm, perfect as you please
