The wind of the Sun dances with my Soul.
My Spirit lives with the Stars. .
My Mind is the Universe and my Heart Eternity. .
My fingertips weave the magic stream of Spirit.
into the fabric light of my Soul, .
shielding me, protecting me. .
My life cannot be contained within this.
one-celled Body Physical. .
My Spirit abounds. .
Light and Love are my Breath, .
the fluid motion of Spirit my life’s blood.
I am Spirit Dancer, .
a beam of the great Spirit Sun, .
ever far-reaching, extending, expanding, .
lighting the Pathway before me. .
My Light casts no shadow, for it is Love, .
and in Love there is no darkness.
I am…
Spirit Dancer!

FOOTNOTE: It is now the year 2013. Over twenty years ago, I took a journey. A journey into Space – into that Sacred Space where we are connected to All of Creation. I can still feel the whirling elation and freedom of those brief seconds where time did not exist – nothing existed except everything and I was One with it. I don’t know what triggered it, but it was an unexpected jolt of pure Spiritual connection rarely experienced the same way since (there have been a few similar instances).
I was the Sun. I was the Wind. I was the Stars shimmering in the near-distance. I was the black and Light of Space in-between them. I was the swirling, mindless, spinning Energy of Source extending beyond our Galaxy. I was Spirit, dancing the playground of the Universe. I was the Creator and the Created.
That spontaneous experience translated into the poem, Spirit Dancer, which went on to birth Spirit Dancer Magazine, and which has had and continues to have a direct impact on everything I do in Creative work (writing , publishing, etc.). I received total support in the start up of Spirit Dancer Magazine, birthed in part due to the excellent teaching and encouragement of Wanda Sue Parrott, who taught me how to publish in chapbook format (this was before electronic publishing made the process a breeze), and Rev. J. Douglas Bottorff provided access to a computer on which to do the initial typesetting (which had to be printed, cut, and pasted into proper sequence before printing). Additionally, the writers and readers who supported Spirit Dancer Magazine during its four-year existence. Without all of their support, none of what followed would have happened the way it did.
That same Sacred Energy, that spiraling stream of Inspiration, continues to flow today, through my writing and creative work designed to encourage and uplift all who read it. Great Spirit Publishing is a direct descendant of Spirit Dancer and now is serving to fulfill the dreams of other writers to see their words in print online and in hard-copy formats. Spirit Dancer – the book – is one of the first books published by Great Spirit Publishing (a one-volume anthology of almost all of the material in the original chapbook magazine editions). A small publisher, we don’t make much money, but we do make dreams come true and we do inspire our readers to think new thoughts, to wonder if there’s more to Life than what they see, to look up rather than look down. Any writing or Spiritual success I have had or will have, I owe to Spirit Dancer.
