AUTUMN

The Japanese maple stands center stage eagerly performing her annual, leisurely strip tease, bumping, grinding and seductively dropping flashes of red at her feet.

Itís a rowdy and raucous scene. The wind is whistling and cheering her on as she gyrates and sheds her attire with unabashed abandon.

Finally she stands stripped and shivering, perhaps filled with regret and longing for her now-fluttering castoffs.

Soon the withered limbs of this shameless, naked exhibitionist will be covered by a blanket of snow, but for now, she bows to her audience and knows a whole year must pass before her encore.
