Everything from the author's close encounter with a good-natured Jesus to his UFO experiences appears in this easy-to-read, often humorous, book by a retired custodian who worked many years for the U. S. Postal Service in Southern California. Ferguson may be the world's most widely traveled OBE expert (OBE meaning Out-of-Body-Experiencer). In casual-but-compelling prose, Ferguson introduces philosophical topics that have mystified religious and academic scholars for aeons, but make perfect sense to him: Laws of Karma and Reincarnation; Visions; Voices; Communication with the dead (and aliens, angels and other higher beings). The work originally appeared as a small chapbook self-published by Ferguson in 1994. The only connection this enlarged edition has with poetry is that Wanda Sue Parrott served as editor, and this four-liner appears on page 98, on which Ferguson says: "When I was a boy and just learning the facts of life, kids used
to tell dirty jokes. One of them went: When I was young and in my prime/I had relations all the time./ But now I'm old; at ninety-three/Six times a day's enough for me." Anyone who has met the mysterious muse and undergone the mystical "the poem just wrote itself" experience will enjoy this book which confronts devils and gods with poetic license and unabashed equanimity.
