This haiku is more than a confession. Working among so many conservative educators for fifty years who traditionally attempted to disconnect student brains from their personalities, indeed, from their souls, my challenge as an author/art teacher/creative thinker was to make them whole again -- at least for a few hours each week. Al Beck
Al Beck lives on 76 acres of woodland in a passive-solar adapted Japanese teahouse which he designed. Next to it is a two-story high pyramid completely wrapped in copper. It is a gallery for his books and the unique stoneware vessels he creates.
