!!LAST CALL FOR ENTRIES!!
Attention Poets Past 50:
Time is ticking for submission of Senior Poet Laureate contest entries

Postmark deadline for the 19th annual national Senior Poets Laureate Poetry Competition for American poets age 50 and older is rapidly approaching. If you have already entered, thanks. If not, your entries may be mailed or e-mailed until midnight on June 30, 2011.

Whether our poets are losing interest in this contest that's been around since 1993, or the $4+ price of gasoline per gallon has cut into mature poets' budgets, the facts are: Entries are down over last year and if we don't receive enough entries to cover expenses, this will be the last Senior Poets Laureate contest run by webmaster Al Baker and me.

An overview will be included in the September edition of this newsletter. Thanks to all poets, be you newcomers or faithful supporters who have participated in SPL every year since its inception. If you are interested in submitting but just hadn't gotten around to it, please do so now. One lucky poet will win $500 and another will get the $100 runner-up award. The 2011 Rules appear on Page 2.

Thank you, and may the muse be with you.
